Ending Inequalities in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
At Future Partners, we are deeply committed to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights globally. Recently, our collaboration with Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa has brought us to Kiribati, where we have been conducting extensive reviews and research, particularly with the Kiribati Family Health Association.
New Zealand Launch of UNFPA's State of the World Population 2024 Report
Last week marked a significant event in our ongoing efforts. Our Director, Kirsty Burnett, and Associate, Dr. Elisabeth Poppelwell, had the honour of attending the New Zealand launch of the UNFPA’s State of the World Population 2024 Report. Hosted by the New Zealand Parliamentarians’ Group on Population and Development in cooperation with Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa, this event focused on ending inequalities in sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Key Highlights from the Report
The report, entitled "Interwoven Lives, Threads of Hope," celebrates 30 years of progress in sexual and reproductive health and rights. It emphasises the successes achieved over the past three decades, while shining a light on those who have been left behind. This dual focus is crucial as we seek to weave a path forward that includes everyone.
Why This Matters
Understanding the context of sexual and reproductive health and rights inequalities is essential for creating inclusive and effective health strategies. The report’s findings provide valuable insights into the disparities that still exist and highlight the areas where attention is needed most.
